There have been many memorable experiences in my 20 years of international gem travel. Most of them point to the incredible spirit of the people in these developing nations. Consequently, I have done over 200 public speaking engagements in the last few years. We feel a tremendous responsibility to these native people and try to raise world awareness of their plight and how more people to people commerce (like buying colored gemstones from you) can have a huge impact on their lives. These are very entertaining presentations that I customize for any group, like Church, School, Women’s Clubs, Professional Associations, and Service Clubs. Each time I visit a store, I am amazed at the high level of interest about the people and environment of the gems’ source country. Recently, an appearance at a morning Rotary Club caused one Rotarian to come into the store and buy a $1500 color change garnet that day. This is just one example of the total commitment we have to making your store successful while helping people around the world.
